Maid of the Mountains 1960
Maid of the Mountains was our thrid production , which again took place on the stage of the New Hall Ennis (otherwise known as Paddy Cons and now the sight of a furniture shop on Station Rd Ennis).
This production was to be the first for long time participants who would go on to be very well known in the musical theatre scene in Ireland. Maretta O Hehir renowned soprano, played her first leading role with us in this show. She would go on to be well known throughout Ireland and indeed around the world for her beautiful singing voice. You are sure to see her name pop up on our lists of awards won for the society with the Waterford International Festival of Light Opera (which predates the AIMS awards)
